Technical Steps

  • Step 1

Begin by taking a profile and a radial parting. This will give you a total of four sections. Secure all sections with TIGI PRO Sectioning clips.

  • Step 2

Begin by taking a slight diagonal parting from the top of the ear towards the profile parting. Place the board underneath the parting, hold the hair down with your thumb to ensure the tension for precise product placement.

  • Step 3

With a freehand painting technique, create a V shape using Formula 1, starting at the mid-length area through to lengths and ends.

  • Step 4

Slide the hair off the board onto a TIGI copygith©olour meche strips. Secure with another meche strip.

  • Step 5

Repeat on the opposite side. Continue working in the same way until the section is complete.

  • Step 6

Progress onto the side section and take a slight diagonal parting. Utilising the same technique, create a V shape using Formula 1. Continue working in the same way until you reach the high recession area.

  • Step 7

At the high recession, take a diagonal slice and apply Formula 1, starting a few millimetres away from the scalp.

  • Step 8

    Repeat on the opposite side.

  • Step 9

Process the colour for up to 40 minutes. Rinse and remove using Catwalk Oatmeal & Honey range.

  • Step 10a

For tonal shift and toning apply Formula 2 from roots to ends and process for 20 minutes. Emulsify, rinse and remove using Catwlak Oatmeal & Honey range.

  • Step 10b

To amplify the colour effect and create rosé champagne tone, apply Formula 3 from the roots through to lengths and ends. Process for up to 20 minutes. Rinse and condition using Bed Head Colour Goddess.

*Tonal Shift is a technique that allows you to gently shift the natural level to soften the appearance of new-growth. On Melody’s hair, gloss formula was used with 8.5vol/2.55% and processed for 20 minutes to shift the natural level and tone the pre-lightened areas. Consider using 20vol/6%** for faster colour processing and more shift of the natural level. **condition allowing.
